Advocate Satyam Singh Rajput and Advocate Diksha Dadu writes Open Letter to National Commission for Women to take Suo-Moto cognisance against media houses for infringing Right to Privacy of SDM Jyoti Maurya in the viral video
The Letter seeks indulgence of the National Commisison for Women in recent viral video of SDM Jyoti Maurya which infringes basic fundamental rights and Right to Privacy of SDM Jyoti Maurya.
The Letter urges NCW to take Suo-Moto Cognizance against Media Houses for conducting a Parallel Media Trial against women, adolescent girls by posting their personal videos, chats without their consent being violative of Right to Privacy and the judgment of Hon’ble Supreme Court in K.S. Puttaswamy and Anr. V. Union of India ((2017) 10 SCC 1) and basic fundamental rights as prescribed in the Constitution of India.
Further, Advocate Satyam Singh Rajput and Diksha Dadu demands imposition of penalty on such Media Houses for posting fake news without proper fact checking only for the purposes of ratings. Lastly, comments on launching a Project/Initiative with Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology to create a safe space for women and speedy disposal of such cyber bullying.
